Trends in climate change observed under tropical wet and tropical montane climates; A case study from Sri Lanka

چکیده
Climate change-related changes in temperature and precipitation trends must be investigated at local, regional global levels. Temperature two selected regions having tropical wet montane climates (i.e., Colombo Nuwara Eliya respectively) Sri Lanka were studied for a 30 year period from 1989 to 2019, evaluate the temporal dynamics of climate change. Precipitation analyzed on annual, monthly, seasonal scales, while mean, minimum, maximum temperatures examined annual monthly scales. Decadal time series plots used study decadal variations average precipitation. The extreme events also evaluated. In addition, diurnal range (DTR), cool warm nights, heat index (HI) studied. significance was evaluated using Mann-Kendall test, magnitude slope assessed by Sen’s estimator. Clear statistically significant increasing observed mean under climates, no clear both districts. There decreasing south-west monsoon rainfall, with decrease climate. Increasing November during inter-monsoonal rains) April hottest month) over last decade 2010-2019) Colombo. DTR has significantly decreased three decades A upward trend HI values showed number nights decade.

Impact of Climate Change on Outdoor Thermal Comfort and Health in Tropical Wet and Hot Zone (Douala), Cameroon
Abstract Background and purpose:Climate change has an important role on the health and productivity of the occupant of the building. The objective of this study is to estimate the effects of climate change on thermal comfort in hot and wet areas, as in the case of the city of Douala. Materials and Methods:The general circulation model (CSMK3 Model, Scenario B1) was adopted for this purpose.Outd...

process may not have been so smooth as initially thought, and numerical simulations performed by Tsiganis et al. (4) show that the passage of Jupiter and Saturn through a 2:1 resonance may have ignited a period of strong chaotic evolution of Uranus and Neptune. In this scenario, the two planets had frequent close encounters and may even have exchanged orbits before their eccentricities finally ...
متن کاملA Preliminary Assessment of Rock Slope Stability in Tropical Climates: A Case Study at Lafarge Quarry, Perak, Malaysia
The stability analysis of rock slopes is a complex task for the geotechnical engineers due to the complex nature of the rock mass in a tropical climate that often has discontinuities in several forms, and consequently, in several types of slope failures. In this work, a rock mass classification scheme is followed in a tropical environment using the Rock Mass Rating (RMR) and Geological St...
متن کاملClimate change and community disassembly: impacts of warming on tropical and temperate montane community structure.
Both tropical and temperate species are responding to global warming through range shifts, but our understanding of the consequences of these shifts for whole communities is limited. Here, we use current elevational range data for six taxonomic groups spanning 90° in latitude to examine the potential impacts of climate-driven range shifts on community change, or 'disassembly', across latitude. ...
